This work is composed to raise awareness of the importance of protecting our sea environment. I have always lived in the proximity of the sea: it is an important and inspiring element to me. El Canto del Mar Infinito is based on two text excerpts written by me (in English and in Spanish) that both focus on the topic. As stated previously, “the ocean has a beautiful surface, but it is also infinite and unpredictable”. I have given part of the authorship of this work to the sea itself: parts of the instrumentation and pitch material have been generated by computer-based analysis of the sounds below and above the surface.
